Game project manager

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Game project manager who loves to guide and challenge. You are someone who naturally enjoys juggling several things at once and gets a kick out of guiding teams towards success. Most importantly, you are a great team player and strive to always get the most out of yourself and your team members. As Game project manager, you will lead and push the daily work in game development projects from beginning to end, from the concept stage until release. Your responsibilities will be varied but are all to make sure that the team will deliver quality content, aligned to a game’s vision.

What you will be doing

  • Own project planning and backlog; set project milestones and keep deadlines together with the game team.  
  • Communicate and handle changes, always weighing them against the timebudget.
  • Keep backlog up to date in Jira, together with the game team and stakeholders. 
  • Work closely with and report project status to senior producer, as well as communicate proactively with main stakeholders.
  • Set up and run sprint plannings, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews etc.
  • Initiate and facilitate post-mortems, feedback sessions, team play sessions, and other meetings aimed at progressing the project and ensuring project health. 
  • Ensure alignment with key stakeholders on all aspects of the project, from design to way of working.
  • Be accountable for project health and delivery.

  • There’s no doubt in your mind that the different disciplines within the game team are experts in their field and you are comfortable with giving them free rein as far as possible. You understand that there is immense creativity and intelligence withing the teams, which you are there to help refine and channel.
  • You are comfortable with heated discussions, candid feedback, and navigating different points of view.
  • You are a master communicator and understand the importance of keeping all relevant parties informed of the project’s status and whatever challenges it’s facing. 
  • You have the capacity to manage several projects at once and are used to fast turnaround times and embrace change as it occurs. 
  • You have worked with agile development methods but are not dogmatic and know when to follow reality over the map.

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a Project Manager within the wider gaming industry, i.e. anything from PC gaming to mobile to casino games.  
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • Fluent in Swedish and English.
